Consultancy Support

Having an independent and experienced critical friend in an inspection, clinical or audit review can have many benefits in improving focus, efficiency and energy.

We offer clients a wide range of academic and clinical expertise, bringing solution focus techniques to transform patient care in independent and primary care settings.  We help to focus energy on key foundations such as staff development, practice development, clinical education, safe administration of medication, clinical audit and governance review.

Using Prince 2 Practitioner, Lean Six Sigma and QIPP (Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention) methodology, we can offer you a range of added value to consider. We can support you in the evaluation of your system or processes in preparation for regulatory inspection such as the Care Quality Commission or Ofsted inspection process with behind the scenes support and staff preparation giving you more time to focus on leading your team.

“I have worked with Jon Wheater on a number of projects including a review of children’s palliative care services in Tower Hamlets which was commissioned by The Transformation Team at Tower Hamlets PCT. Jon has also acted as reviewer for a number of National Patient Safety Agency publications relating to Child Health. I found him to have excellent report writing skills and an ability to constructively critique. He communicates easily with children and their families and has an ability to make them feel comfortable, enabling them to actively participate in projects.”

My Own Mentor was commissioned by UCLPartners to develop a training curriculum and training delivery approach for the dementia research awareness module of a dementia training package to be delivered to care home staff. The material developed was of a high standard and delivered within a tight timeframe. They met with us early on to discuss the full requirements of the specification and options on approach and final product, ensuring the end product met the specific training needs of care home staff. The materials were evaluated positively by the project steering group and are currently incorporated in the final overall training package which is being rolled out across care homes in North and East London.”

“Lifeline Southwark found the support help and advice of My Own Mentor Ltd invaluable when preparing for their recent CQC inspection. A detailed audit of infection control was carried out prior to the inspection which helped us focus on areas that needed improvement. As ‘our critical friend’ they were approachable and helped guide us through this process. I would have no hesitation in recommending this organisation.”
